RIEGELSVILLE, PA
Formerly known as Shank’s Ferry, Riegelsville, Pennsylvania can be found forty-two miles north of Trenton, New Jersey. The Delaware River in Durham township, at the extreme northeastern end of Bucks County, Riegelsville, is awaiting your visit. The year 1832 saw the opening of the canal, and soon boats were delivering good to their destinations, whether from the mines, from the fields, or from the factories. Ninety-nine years later, the railroads replaced the canals. There are rumors that ghosts haunt this quiet town. Could it be because Riegelsville was built on the site of a long-ago Native American village? Some residents work very hard at finding out. Never fear, your cozy room at the B & B is surely not haunted! When you’re through ghost-busting, take a walk or ride along the remnants of the canal. It’s so easy to see what it was like in the days of the hustle and bustle of transportation and commerce. Choose any one of our Bed and Breakfast Inns when traveling to our area festivals, fairs, parks, and canoeing in the Delaware River. We’ll be there to meet you! |
